BFAR 6 adhered to its mission to empower fisherfolk and other stakeholders to improve fisheries productivity and contribute to the food security of the country, which is anchored in the One DA Reform Agenda’s pillars and key strategies for transforming Philippine agriculture and fishing in CY 2022 when developing the National Fisheries Program.

As we transition for the implementation of Executive Order 138 or the 2018 Mandanas Ruling, we optimize our resources and capabilities to provide quality service to our stakeholders.We need to strengthen the performance of our functions in the midst of the threat of pandemic and calamities, such as the recent Typhoon Odette.

BFAR has the mandate of formulating plans to enhance service delivery and for supervising and complementing the work of local government units (LGUs). It is our goal to provide the fisherfolk, other stakeholders, and the bureau’s key clients with essential interventions and services in order to achieve our goal of a sustainable and bountiful fisheries industry in the region and country.
