The DA-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region 6 (BFAR 6) joined the celebration of Filipino Food Month 2025 through a product exhibit held at the Main Activity Center of SM City Iloilo from April 22 to 24.
This year’s national theme, “Sarap ng Pagkaing Pilipino: Yaman ng ating Kasaysayan, Kultura, at Pagkatao,” highlights Filipino cuisine as a vital expression of the nation’s rich history, cultural identity, and shared heritage.
The event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Iloilo City Government, Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Tourism (DOT), Iloilo City MICE Center, and SM City Iloilo.
The Bureau showcased the artisanal sea salt known as Budbud from Miagao, Iloilo, along with various aquaculture technologies and fisheries management campaign materials.
The exhibit also featured participation from academic institutions in Iloilo including John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University – Iloilo, University of the Philippines Visayas, Central Philippine University, Iloilo Science and Technology University, PHINMA – University of Iloilo, and the University of San Agustin.
Other participating agencies included the Department of Agriculture Region 6, National Dairy Authority Region 6, and the Philippine Coconut Authority Region 6.###/MLMandalejo
