In the pursuit of providing excellent public service, a three-day Training-Workshop on Improving Facilitation and Planning Skills and Municipal Fisheries Ordinance (MFO) Preparation was conducted last February 21-23, 2023, at Zuri Hotel, Iloilo City.

The activity aimed to capacitate BFAR 6 employees, provide them with formal training, enhance their skills in facilitation and planning, and familiarize them with the Municipal Fisheries Ordinance process and preparation through expert lectures and a series of workshops including role-playing, break-out sessions, mock facilitation, and reporting.

Training Center Superintendent, Ms. Jessica C. Esmao, of the Regional Fisheries Training and Fisherfolk Coordination Division (RFTFCD) highlighted in her welcome message the importance of capacitating BFAR 6 personnel in facilitation and planning so they can provide assistance to local government units in the municipal fisheries ordinance preparation.

As the bureau continuously works for effective and efficient program implementation, this capacity-building program is timely to ensure technical assistance is provided to the clientele to contribute to the attainment of the bureau’s mandate and the LGU’s goals.

The RFTFCD spearheaded the conduct of the activity and was participated by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region VI (BFAR 6) personnel specifically the Report Officers, Fisheries Protection and Law Enforcement Group (FPLEG) Members, and Technical Staff from the regional office and provincial fisheries offices (PFO) of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental.

The training was held in collaboration with the BFAR- USAID Fish Right Program. ### BFAR6/AFEsponilla
